I was talking with a good friend this past week.  We were talking about recognizing how God really sees us.  Both of us grew up thinking that God was making us into something.  That it was like a puzzle with pieces being added until it all became a complete picture.  But is that really true?

According to the bible, we become a new creation when we accept Jesus and what He did to save us.  We aren’t seen as something to be formed, but something that has already been transformed.  My friend related it to how Michaelangelo looked at the marble (?) he created his David from.  He already saw the final product.  He didn’t need to add to it, but refined it and worked on it to help it become what he had always envisioned.  The more work he did, the more apparent it became to everyone else.

Scientists say that the makeup of a catepillar is identical to a butterfly.  In effect, it already IS a butterfly.  But it goes through the process of transformation within the cocoon to bring it to a place where the world also sees it as a butterfly.

How cool is that?  If we know Jesus, we are already, in His eyes, the finished product.  But He loves us enough to work with us and grow us and reveal the masterpiece He sees in us.  The master artist.  The potter.  The carpenter.  His able hands creating the beauty He envisions for our lives.  To bring Him all the glory He deserves.

Let's stay connected!

I promise to send some encouragement your way, and a bit of hope for the soul...
