I know that most of the country is nearly heading into winter.  But here in the southwest, we just experienced our first real fall day.  Temperatures in the 50’s.  Wind.  Clouds.  We actually got really cold!  Got to wear a sweatshirt and soak in a hot bath.  So wonderful!

While I am thoroughly enjoying the weather, I am still having to use my imagination a bit.  Cacti don’t change colors with the seasons.  Fall is supposed to be full of my favorite colors – reds, browns, yellows, oranges.  Leaves are supposed to fall and make soft scattering blankets on the ground.  I’m supposed to have blisters on my hands from raking them all.  I’d love to be looking out through rain streaked windows at mud puddles and wet umbrellas.  Reading under a blanket to the sweet sound of raindrops on the roof.  Burning fragrant candles that smell like cinnamon and pumpkin pie.

I will enjoy the next 24 hours with all that is in me.  Being able to keep the covers on all night.  Shivering slightly when I get out of bed.  Putting on shoes instead of flip flops.  Driving without air conditioning.  Because in about 48 hours or so, we are supposed to be back in the 80’s.  Sigh…

Forty eight hours of cool temperatures and a vivid imagination.  Forty eight hours of sheer bliss…:-)

Let's stay connected!

I promise to send some encouragement your way, and a bit of hope for the soul...
