Tonight we attended Brendan’s sister’s wedding.  It was a beautiful setting at a country club in Fountain Hills with 75 degrees, amazing grounds, and breathtaking views.  Christine married Josh, the son of our very good friends Nancy and Eric. The bride was gorgeous, the groom handsome.  The whole evening was picturesque.

Brendan played and sang a song that he had written for the couple.  It was beautiful.  And that’s when my tears began and the lump in my throat grew.  The reality of that being any one of my three girls in the near future, and Blake down the road , hit me.  There may have been a hint of sadness at how quickly the years have gone.  But mostly it was tears of excitement and anticipation of their special days coming and their new lives beginning and our family increasing in size.  That is my mama dream.  The dream to see their dreams come true.

And so, as I sat there tonight sharing dinner with new friends and old, I smyled.  As I heard a daddy toast his daughter and new son-in-law, I smyled.  And as I saw the happy couple look into each other’s eyes, promise each other a lifetime of love and dance the first dance, I smyled like never before.  Love…it’s a really, really, really good thing… 🙂

Let's stay connected!

I promise to send some encouragement your way, and a bit of hope for the soul...
