As I said a couple days ago in an earlier post, I have been going through old pictures.  Unlike friends of mine whose pictures are all in neatly decorated albums, my 26 years of pictures are in boxes.  So going through them is somewhat like a treasure hunt.  Sometimes frustrating, but always fun!

I came across pictures of the trip that Britt and I took to Uganda five years ago.  Memories came flooding back looking at the precious faces of the sweet kids we worked with.  It was such an awesome experience to share together.  Here are just a few of the incredibly poor and yet incredibly joyful children that we got to hold and play with.  Of course, we were there to work and build a house, but our favorite memories are with the people we had the privilege of getting to know and love.  I wish I had pictures of Britt with the kids, but of course she took all of those! She was amazing with them, and it fed her passion to work with underprivileged kids. She went to Africa again a couple years later, and I’m sure will go again if and when she is able.  This trip was truly life changing for her…and for me…(please forgive the fuzziness and weird shadows…taking pics of pics…)

I have another picture that happened right after this where he full on kissed me on the lips!  (Still looking for that one…it’s my absolute favorite!!!!)

The kids loved wearing our sunglasses 🙂

Britt and I at the worksite where we were brick layers for two weeks…

And Britt and I in London – our 24 hour layover…

Let's stay connected!

I promise to send some encouragement your way, and a bit of hope for the soul...
