And speaking of walls…

After putting the foundation of new floors in my garage turned office, consultation and prayer space, I needed to attend to the walls before I did anything else. (Still open to suggestions on what to call this haven of mine!)

While these walls were already built and equipped with great windows and doors, they were pretty banged up from storing all of my staging inventory in the past.

Sometimes our walls need repair, don’t they? 🙂

So I broke out the putty and filled all the holes.

Unfortunately, the walls were also a little too dark and drab for my liking in this relatively small space, so paint was a necessity, too.

I chose a color that I’ve used throughout my home:

Sherwin Williams Jogging Path in Eggshell finish.

It’s a nice, light, warm gray that pairs well with browns, darker grays, whites, creams and black – all of the beautiful neutrals that I like to work with.

Here is the before and after colors:

The darker is the before, and the new is on the right.  See the difference in warmth?

You would not believe how something as easy as a new shade of paint both freshens and brightens a room, making it appear larger and more airy!

Paint always has that ‘instant gratification’ effect on me.  And it’s one of the least expensive ways to update and enrich a room.   Makes you fall in love with your space all over again!

So here is the floor paired with the new wall color:

My camera doesn’t do the best job of translating the actual color and richness, but you get the idea.

My floors are a combination of warm browns and soothing grays, so the paint draws that gray hue out of the floors, showing all of the luscious depth in its beautiful surface.

This sets the stage for anything else that I will do in this sacred room.  Both decoratively and therapeutically.

Now comes the fun stuff…. 🙂

Let's stay connected!

I promise to send some encouragement your way, and a bit of hope for the soul...
