Hey, it’s me…

I saved you a spot…

Thought we could just sit and chat for a few…

We’d start off by sharing some M & M’s…

(I would tell you that the new pretzel ones are too good for words…)

You could tell me what you’ve been up to…

And I would smile.

And then I would show you what I’ve been up to this past week…

Worked on the yard…

planted some  more flowers…

put together Mark’s home office…

Then we would talk about our families.

You would tell me how big and grown up your kids are getting.

You would smile when you told how proud you were of them.

We would laugh at the silly things they say and do.

And that would make me smile.

Then you’d ask the latest news in our family.

And I would grin as I shared that I am going to be a mother-in-law…

And we would sit in our chairs on the porch…

And we would laugh and talk and maybe even cry…

And we would thoroughly enjoy just being there…together…
