I woke up this morning to the most glorious sunrise.  It was truly spectacular.  People were pulling over to the side of the road to take pictures of it. (My camera, unfortunately, was dead…)  As the sun rose, the magnificent Rockies stood magestic, snowcapped, in all their glory, looking like a perfect postcard picture. As I drove, I said aloud, “How can anyone doubt that we serve an amazing God????”  His handiwork is so very evident here in this gorgeous spot of His creation.

But His hands are at work here in Colorado in ways that take a little closer look to see.  He is bringing women together – awakening them, stirring them, calling them to something bigger than themselves, to reach out to hurting women in our community.  And it’s exciting!  We are just catching a glimpse of what Jesus has in store, but in each of us there is an excitement, an anticipation.  We don’t know what exactly, or how or when.  But we know WHO is asking.  And we are listening…

I was reading in Esther this morning.  As queen, she was in a position to risk her life to save her people by approaching the king and plead on their behalf.  It was risky.  Scary, even.  And she was honest about her fears.  But her cousin Mordecai encouraged and challenged her, saying, “…if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place…who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?”

Wow.  She could have remained silent.  Safe.  But she would have missed out on the deliverance of her people.  God would have had to use someone else.  Someone willing to take the risk.

I don’t want to miss out on this opportunity to impact women for Jesus.  I could bow out.  Play it safe. Plug my ears to the whisper I hear. God could use someone else. He WILL accomplish His purposes.  But dang it!  I wanna be part of that action and excitement!  And I want to invite others to join me!  And God has brought about 10 women alongside me who feel the same way.  And I am thrilled!  And yes, a little scared….

Esther decided to go and approach the king.  To take the risk.  But not without first asking those around her to pray and fast with her in preparation for what was ahead.  Smart lady.  I’m not going to ask you to fast with me, but I would ask you to pray as you think of this group of women.  Ordinary women who feel that we are called to an extraordinary purpose in this town.  To practically touch the lives of others with the very deep, very real, very intimate love of Jesus.  Believing that we were created and placed here “for such a time as this”….

Let's stay connected!

I promise to send some encouragement your way, and a bit of hope for the soul...
