God,

There are times when I wonder

Am I on the right page?

When my ink hits the paper

Do my words engage?

Is anybody listening?

Does anybody care?

Or am I just talking to myself….

Is anybody there?

Are people weary of my prose

Have I blathered on and on?

In my passion to convey Your love

Have I come on too strong?

I only want to listen

To what You have to say

I only want to pass on

What You give me every day

But if I’m to be silent

Please show me what to do

My only goal, my precious Lord,

Is to show people You

And if there’s no one listening

Help me just to know

That my goal is to hear You

And let all the rest go.

Thank You for the words you share

Show me what to do

Help me to write as from Your heart

Help others to see You

I give my hands, my heart, my life

To sit and write today

But I will still listen and love

If You take it all away

Use my words, use my life

May they always be

Yours to do with as You choose
