If it comes to your heart and mind today, please pray for me. I have my first speaking gig since the book came out. Today I’ll be talking to a group of single moms (150?). Because this is a pretty specific group of women, I want my message to speak to them right where their hearts are at with the struggles and realities that they face every day.
I will be sharing my story “Fairytale” and will go from there to describe the intense love that God has for them, relating it to the love they have for their children. Please pray that the words I say will come directly from God and that I won’t get in the way of that message being portrayed.
It’s been a big week and I am tired. I feel that I lack the energy that I need to do this well today. Thankfully, God’s resources are endless and available for me to tap into today. My prayer is that He will use me in spite of myself and the things I lack today. That He will send His message through my heart and not just my prepared talk. And if there is something to be said that someone needs to hear that I haven’t thought of, that He will prompt me and I will be responsive to that prompting.
Thanks for the prayers. God is good. He will do good things today, even if I don’t see them on this side of heaven. And I’m sure that some of those good things will be how He changes me and opens my eyes through these precious women.

Oh Kathy, you’re so sweet! It was great! Had some great one on one conversations with ladies afterwards. Lots of tears and amazing stories. More people who want to be on board with the next book project! It’s so good to see the churches in town coming together to help those in need and doing practical things to minister to their hearts. Such good, good stuff. 🙂 And the speaking part was really fun, too! 🙂
